Architecture is an act of recalibration. In an age dominated by digital interfaces, Widescreen redirects our attention toward the physical horizon. Situated on the thirtieth floor of a Singapore residence, this project utilizes a series of calculated geometric interventions to frame the urban panorama as the home’s primary inhabitant.
The design is a masterclass in spatial optimization for a growing family. By strategically reconfiguring the floor plan—enlarging the master suite and kitchen while seamlessly integrating guest and storage functions—we cleared the path for a singular, immersive axis. The journey begins at a private lobby, where upcycled live-edge timber leads the eye toward an expansive circulation spine. Here, book-matched Gioia Extra marble reinforces a sense of linear symmetry, framed by a structural portal that mimics the proportions of a cinematic lens.
Through a refined palette of timber-grained laminates and meticulous structural alignment, the apartment transcends its functional requirements. It becomes a vessel for perspective, where the transition from corridor to living space is not merely a movement through a room, but an entry into an immersive, wide-format experience of the world beyond.
