The architectural dialogue of Subliminal Corridor begins with the liberation of the structure. By detaching two existing columns from the perimeter walls, we transform them into independent, sculptural elements. This intentional separation creates a layered transition—a buffer zone that negotiates the boundary between public and private realms.
In a poetic play of displacement, fixed glass panels are positioned behind each column, mirroring their proportions as if the structure’s movement left a light-filled opening in its wake. This rhythmic pairing of column and window creates a dynamic visual experience: depending on your vantage point, the space alternately conceals and reveals. By teasing the threshold of the home, the design dissolves traditional compartmentation, inducing a profound sense of spatial expansion through transparency and light.
