Vessel, The Gazania

In a compact Singapore condominium, Vessel emerges as a study in verticality and structural grace. Tasked with enhancing a 4.7-meter-high volume for a professional couple, our design centers on a singular, sculptural loft that redefines the apartment’s spatial logic.

Guided by principles of sustainability and refined detailing, we retained the original finishes, focusing our intervention on a "floating" timber structure. The loft’s soffit—inspired by the rib-work joinery of a boat—becomes the home’s centerpiece. Integrated LED lighting casts a warm, atmospheric glow, while floor-level seating deliberately lowers the horizon to amplify the sense of height.

Beyond the living area, fluted glass panels offer a poetic play of light and privacy, seamlessly merging the bedroom and workspace. A space-saving alternating-tread staircase leads to the loft office, where a parapet ledge offers views of the lush greenery beyond. Vessel is more than an addition; it is a meticulously crafted ship, designed to support the rhythms of modern life through structural clarity and sensory warmth.
