The architecture of the workplace often requires a delicate balance between connection and boundary. In this rectangular office, we moved away from physical segregation, using the diagonal as the primary organizing principle. This single, skewed axis defines zones for meeting, focused work, and respite without compromising the fluid nature of the space.

An off-center entry triggers this simple yet effective geometry, carving out two opposing triangular areas. As the eye travels through the office, the shifting widths subtly signal a transition from public engagement to private focus. This triangular logic extends into the furniture itself; a cantilevered tabletop is supported by converging posts that anchor to the slab soffit, allowing for unobstructed movement below. The meeting table similarly adapts, triangulating to the room’s profile or separating for collaborative discussions.

By anchoring the design in visual perspective, the office experience becomes inherently dynamic. While the skew lines introduce a sense of vibrancy and movement, the underlying rectangular floor plan ensures a final geometric order. Triple-Sided Balance demonstrates how classical compositional elements can be repurposed to create a modern environment that is both functionally rigorous and soulfully resonant.
